Entrepreneurship ‘20:
Re-Up

A semester-long intensive, simulated course to fully ideate, develop, and execute a business plan for an apparel store through analysis of its industry, competition, opportunities, sales & marketing, operations, finances, and more. Below is a slideshow of what was shown during our 5-minute '“shark tank” presentation to business critics, which gave them a brief overview of our idea. Our team came in first for this assignment and the business plan was granted its “loan.”

The Idea

Re-Up is an ecommerce thrift store that sells upcycled and repurposed clothing sourced in the Richmond area. Additionally Re-up has a brick and mortar location where we host interactive workshops led by local artisans, designers, and craftsmen who specialize in different clothing alterations and modifications. In efforts to meet the surrounding needs of our community and the growing trend toward greener fashions, we made it our mission to have an authentic commitment to sustainability in the fashion industry, through creative and personal reutilization of second-hand garments. With long term goals being to grow a social following, increase sales and market share, and over all develop brand awareness and recognition.

Final Business Plan

“Through our ecommerce channel and brick and mortar community space, we hope to inspire creativity and create unparalleled experiences for our current Richmond market and any future clients along the way. So sharks, we ask you, will you join us in creating a greener fashion industry and help us upcycle with Re-Up.”
